Firefighters in Northwest Harris County found the murder/suicide victims in a burning garage.

First responders in Northwest Harris County, TX, made a gruesome discovery this morning.

They found two bodies in a burning garage after responding to a domestic violence call.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told KHOU 11 that not only did the man set himself and his wife on fire, but that their two children watched the horror unfold.

First responders were dispatched to a report of domestic violence around 2 a.m.

When they arrived, the garage was on fire and a 65-year-old man and his 59-year-old wife were found dead.

Investigators told KHOU that the two adult children, ages 28 and 21, told them it all started with their father turning off the power in the house.

The next thing they knew, their mom was screaming and on fire. They tried to put her out, but were too late to save her.

“There has been, according to family, some history of domestic violence and some drug use, allegedly, on the part of the father,” Sheriff Gonzalez told reporters.

This was the third time in the past six months that first responders were dispatched to the residence on a domestic violence call.
