A man and woman are accused of trying to kidnap Los Angeles firefighter Francisco Aguilar, 48, in late August while the 20-veteran of the department was at his condo in Rosarito, Mexico.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a Los Angeles firefighter who has been missing in Mexico since late August.

Hiram Sanchez, Baja California's lead prosecutor, said the couple—identified as Fanny N., 32, and Santos N., 27—were taken into custody Friday, KCAL-TV reports. Firefighter Frank Aguilar, 48, went missing Aug. 20 while  at his condo near Rosarito.

“They haven’t said where my dad is yet, they’re not saying a lot right now,” Bella Aguilar, one of the 20-year veteran firefighter's two daughters, told KCAL. “We will not stop until we find out where you are. We will not rest."

Family members found Aguilar's condo in shambles after checking on him when he hadn't contacted anyone. A laptop, as well as two vehicles, were missing, and blood was discovered at the scene.

According to investigators, Aguilar had a date in Rosarito with the woman, KCAL reports. That's when the suspects allegedly tried to kidnap Aguilar, who scuffled with the couple.

Shots were fired during the attempted kidnapping, and Aguilar apparently was able to escape. Investigators said Aguilar's credit cards have been used throughout Tijuana, Ensenada and Rosarito, and the FBI is helping local authorities to find Aguilar, KCAL added.

“We completely hope that we find answers from these people, but we are disgusted in these people,” Bella Aguilar told KCAL..
