Injured Baltimore Firefighter Upgraded to Fair Condition

Baltimore fire officials announced EMT/Firefighter John McMaster has been upgraded to fair condition at Shock Trauma Hospital.

The Baltimore firefighter who was critically injured at Monday’s fire and collapse has been upgraded to fair condition.

Baltimore EMT/firefighter John McMaster was pulled from the South Stricker Street rowhome following a collapse that claimed the lives of three Baltimore firefighters.

"While he has a long way to go, I am incredibly optimistic, and we will continue to pray for and support EMT/FF McMaster and his family during his time of recovery," Chief Niles R. Ford said in a statement.

The three firefighters were later identified as Lt. Paul Butrim, firefighter/paramedic Kelsey Sadler and EMT/firefighter Kenny Lacayo.

GoFundMe account has been started to help their families offset funeral/memorial, medical, and other expenses resulting from this tragic event.
