Jerry Presta is the board chairman of the Nassau County Junior Firefighters’ Association. He has served with the East Norwich, NY, Fire Company No. 1 since 1998 and has run their Junior program since 1999. Presta is vice chairman of the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Youth in the Fire Service Committee since 2009, helping them develop Youth Day Programs throughout the state. He is an advisory board member of the National Volunteer Fire Council and chairman of the Southern New York Firefighters’ Association Youth Committee. Presta helped develop and is one of the program directors for Camp Fahrenheit 516, a state-of-the-art fire camp for juniors to have first-hand experiences on what probationary firefighter school would be like.
