4 Guys Fire Trucks

The Monroeton Volunteer Fire Department in Reidsville, NC, took delivery of its new 4 Guys Fire Trucks custom pumper. The engine features a Spartan Gladiator chassis. It’s powered by a Cummins X12 500-hp engine. To fight fire, the rig includes a Hale QMAX 1,500-gpm pump and a 1,000-gal. poly tank. Other features include a top-mount operator’s panel, Whelen emergency lighting, a 6-kW Harrison hydraulic generator, suction hose compartments, a powered hosebed cover, ladder and portable tank compartments through the body, hinged body compartment doors, and SCBA bottle compartments in the rear wheel wells.

BME Fire Trucks

The Sierra Bonita Rincon Volunteer Fire Department in Guadalupita, NM, purchased BME Fire Trucks’ Bighorn wildland urban interface engine. Built on a four-wheel-drive, Freightliner M2-106 chassis, the rig includes a 350-hp powerplant. The truck carries a Waterous HLUPA pump that’s rated at 1,000–1,500 gpm, a Waterous E-511C auxiliary pump (for pump and roll), a 750-gal. water tank and a 25-gal. foam cell. The Zico Ladder Rack carries a full 24-14-10 ladder complement.

Braun Ambulances

Braun Ambulances custom crafted this Chief XL Type I ambulance for the Southborough, MA, Fire Department. The unit is built on a Ford F-550 chassis and features a 360-degree Hanson Camera System and a Whelen warning and scene light package. A liquid spring suspension is included for a smoother ride. The 169-inch-long module combines with 72 inches of headroom to offer maximum working space and storage inside and out.

CET Manufacturing

The Ford F-550 CET Fire Apparatus Ultimate First Responder is crafted for challenging terrains. Built on a Ford E-350 chassis, the vehicle includes an aluminum interior and a ducted heat/AC system. The ambulance was constructed with functionality and reliability in mind. Darley

The Boltonville, WI, Volunteer Fire Department took delivery of this Darley tactical pumper. The rig is built on a Navistar CV515 chassis and is powered by a 6.6-liter, 350-hp Duramax diesel engine and an Allison automatic transmission. The 4x4 rig has a four-door crew cab. The copolymer body is mounted to a hot-dipped galvanized steel subframe. Slide-in, fully enclosed storage is provided at the back for ladders, suction hoses and pike poles. For fighting fire, the pumper has a 1,500-gpm Darley PSMC AutoCAFS-equipped fire pump, a 400-gallon poly water tank, an integral 25-gallon foam cell and a FoamPro 2001 Class A foam system.

Demers Ambulances

The MXP 170 Type I ambulance that Demers Ambulances constructed for Bonner Springs, KS, Fire and EMS is built on a Ford F-550 4x4 diesel chassis. The custom graphics wrap, aluminum cabinetry design, all-LED interior and exterior lighting, curbside workstation with auxiliary controls and storage, and powder-coated black wheel simulators are designed with patient and crew comfort, safety and efficiency in mind.

E-ONE

The Amherst, MA, Fire Department took delivery of a new E-ONE custom pumper that’s built on a Typhoon chassis with long cab and is fueled by a Cummins L9 450-hp engine. The rig includes a Hale Qmax-XS 2,000-gpm pump, a 780-gal. water tank and a ZeroRPM idle-mitigation system. Also included: a severe-duty, interior Onan generator, a Whelen warning light package and lightbar, FireTech scene lighting and an internal vertical ladder tunnel.

Ferrara Fire Apparatus

Firematic Supply Co.

The new Rescue B.R.A.T. 1500 for the Lehigh Township Fire Co. (Cherryville, PA) was built by Firematic Supply Co. on a Ford F-550 Powerstroke four-door, 4x4 chassis with 2½-inch lift. The vehicle features Firematic’s Founders M/T Super Single tires and a Warn Industries front bumper. The rig has a deck gun and ground sprays. The pump house includes a PTO-powered Darley 1-1/2AG pump, for pump and roll, and a 1,500-gpm Darley Split Shaft pump.

Horton Ambulance

Avon Lake, OH, Fire Department’s new Horton ambulance is built on a Freightliner quad cab chassis. The vehicle includes a black-out package, liquid spring suspension, Horton’s CoolTech air conditioning system and the Horton Occupant Protection System (HOPS), which protects the rear occupants. Behind the driver’s side passenger door is a custom cabinet. An acrylic flip-down door opens into the cab area. Horton’s door forward design moves the side entry door forward, to give the crew more floor space and provide more accessible storage.

KME Fire Apparatus

Hilton Head Island, SC, Fire Rescue’s new custom pumper is built on a KME Severe Service XMFD flat-roof cab/chassis. The vehicle is powered by a Cummins L9 450-hp engine. Notable features include a 1,500-gpm Hale Qmax-XS pump; a 440-gal. water tank; a 60-gal. foam cell; full-height, full-depth compartments on the driver’s side; and a low hosebed.

Ladder Tower

The Philadelphia International Airport’s new 75-foot rear-mount aerial from Ladder Tower is built on a Spartan Metro Star MFD chassis. Powered is supplied by a Cummins X12 500-hp engine. To fight fire, the rig has a Waterous CMU 2,000-gpm pump and a 500-gal. water tank. Other features include a 75-foot, steel, three-section ladder that has a 500-lb. tip load, Whelen LED warning lights, and FRC and FireTech scene lights.

Marion Body Works

The Summerville, GA, Fire Department’s new, state-of-the-art, Marion custom side-mount pumper features an aluminum Metro Star Chassis and an EMFD 10-inch raised-roof cab style. Medix Ambulance delivered this MSV-II 157 Type I ambulance to Union Beach, NJ, EMS. The unit is built on a Ford F-450 chassis and has a 169-inch wheelbase. The body (157 inches long, 96 inches wide) provides 72 inches of interior headroom. The vehicle is static load tested to 74,000 psi and is equipped with a Stryker Power-LOAD system.

Midwest Fire

Dungan Volunteer Fire & EMS Department in Alamogordo, NM, took delivery of a new custom All-Poly Type 3 by Midwest Fire that’s mounted on a Freightliner M2-106 crew cab chassis. To fight fire, it has a 750-gallon All-Poly tank with a side-control-configured Hale RSD 1250 Pump. The rig also features a Foam Pro 1600 foam system, an Elkhart Vulcan deck gun, and a Kussmaul air and battery conditioner with manual connection.

Moose Boats

Woodbridge, CA, Fire Protection District’s new Moose Boats M3 fireboat protects the Sacramento River Delta area. The vessel’s dedicated Volvo Penta engine pushes 1,500 gpm from two TFT master stream nozzles. The boat’s two 300-hp Mercury outboard engines propel the vessel at more than 45 knots. The boat includes tow line guides, a tow post and an integrated towing spool. The vessel can be put on a trailer for easy over-the-road transportation.

Ocean Craft Marine

The 9.5-meter firefighting/search and rescue boat that Ocean Craft Marine delivered to the Monroe Township, MI, Fire Department revolutionizes Lake Erie water-related incident management and rescue operations. This vessel includes the manufacturer’s high-performance, concave reverse-chine hull to endure the most challenging sea conditions and to increase agility and maneuverability. An adaptable design accommodates specific equipment needs, which allows the craft to be tailored to diverse scenarios (e.g., portable fire pumps, rescue baskets and medical equipment). Pierce Manufacturing

The Indianapolis Fire Department added 12 Pierce Enforcer pumpers to its fleet. The rigs feature a grey-over-red paint scheme and are powered by PACCAR MX-13 engines. The pumpers include a flat cab for enhanced visibility and a top-mounted pump for better operator control. With a 2,000-gpm Waterous pump, a 500-gallon tank and TAK-4 independent suspension, the rigs will perform optimally in varied terrains. Easy access to the engine compartment allows for routine checks without lifting the cab, which streamlines maintenance for the department’s diverse fleet.

Ribcraft

The specialized rescue boat that Ribcraft delivered to the Greene, ME, Volunteer Fire Department (GVFD) expands the department’s response capabilities. The 16-foot vessel features a forward-positioned center console with attached pod seat; an open, clutter-free deck; transom bollards; a 50-hp Yamaha outboard engine; and a multichambered, heavy-duty Hypalon tube. The manufacturer worked with the department’s fire chief to configure the boat, which is designed as a surf rescue craft, to meet all of the GVFD’s operational requirements to better serve the Androscoggin County community.

Road Rescue

The Harrisonburg, VA, Volunteer Fire Department took delivery of a new Road Rescue Ultramedic ambulance. The vehicle is built on a Ford F-550 XLT 4x4 chassis, which features a 172-inch module length and an interior height of 72 inches. The ambulance is equipped with restocking cabinets, a custom console and a CoolBar. Additional features include a SmithWorks IV warmer; a Stryker Power-LOAD system; a Global Traffic Technologies Opticom traffic preemption system; a Zorg camera system; custom cabinetry at the squad bench head; and LED flex strip lighting in the cabinets.

Rosenbauer America

The Saint Paul, MN, Fire Department welcomed the first electric fire apparatus to the state, a Rosenbauer RTX. The department worked with Rosenbauer America and local dealer General Safety Fire Apparatus. The apparatus features superlative maneuverability, with a width of just 92½ inches, a low center of gravity and all-wheel steering. The rig is powered by a Volvo Penta all-electric drivetrain. The vehicle’s firefighting complements include a Rosenbauer N55 1,500-gpm pump that’s supplied by a 500-gallon water tank and a 26-gallon foam tank.

Seagrave Fire Apparatus

The Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company in Newton, NJ, worked with Seagrave Fire Apparatus and Matheny Motor Truck Company on building its new pumper. The rig has a Marauder stainless-steel, 141-foot, full-tilt cab, a 24-inch front bumper extension and a wheelbase of 209 inches. Power is provided by a Cummins X12 500-hp engine and an Allison 4000 transmission. For fighting fire, the vehicle has a Waterous 2,000-gpm, single-stage CSU pump and a 1,250-gallon water tank.

Smeal

Built on a Smeal Sirius II chassis and fueled by a Cummins X12 500-hp engine, the Chattanooga, TN, Fire Department’s new 77-foot rear-mount quint features a Waterous 1,500-gpm pump, a 450-gallon water tank and a 750-lb. tip load (wet or dry). Summit Fire Apparatus

Summit Fire Apparatus built this hazmat response vehicle for Campbell County Emergency Management of Alexandria, KY. The department needed a compact unit that includes lots of custom storage areas. This 12-ft. aluminum equipment body on a RAM 5500 chassis was perfect. Notable features include six side compartments that include custom slide trays; Hansen doors; an enclosed rear cargo area; rooftop compartments, including a Stay-Dry hopper; a custom ladder to the rooftop; and custom running boards. The unit also has a Whelen light bar and warning lights, a Kussmaul charger and a rear trailer hitch.

Sutphen

The Harvard, MA, Fire Department (HFD) took delivery of a new Sutphen SPH 100. With height restrictions throughout the department’s response district, the HFD selected Sutphen’s stowable handrail option, which reduces the overall height of the mid-mount aerial platform while it’s being driven. Once on scene, the department has the choice to either keep the handrail stowed or to deploy it for easy climbing. The rig has a 2,000-gpm pump, a 500-gallon water tank, a 20-gallon foam tank and more than 280 cu. ft. of compartment space.

SVI Trucks

Brevard County Fire Rescue in Rockledge, FL, received a new SVI Trucks walk-in hazmat unit that features a 22-foot SVI body that’s mounted on a Metro Star LFD chassis. The truck includes a mobile command center that has a 10-foot-wide slide-out, pass-through, compartment-body connection and a roof access stairway for all-around easy access. It comes equipped with hazmat gear, including a Flow Science FS2010FD containment enclosure, a Norcold DE-0041R 120 VAC refrigerator, a Coleman Mach 3 PS climate control unit, a Command Light CL Series light tower and a top-mounted Safety Vision 620A camera.

Unruh Fire

The diesel-powered, 11-foot, 4x4 Type 6 wet rescue for Wyandotte, OK, Fire Department was built by Unruh Fire on a Ford F-550 crew cab. The front compartment has a dual-direction, 70 percent slide for easy access to equipment. The rear driver and passenger compartments have adjustable shelves and a 100 percent-extension slide-out shelf. For fighting fire, the vehicle includes a 300-gallon tank that has an integrated 12-gallon foam cell and a Hale HPX-200 pump. All of the emergency and scene lights, including telescoping lights, are Whelen.

Wheeled Coach

The Baltimore County Fire Department recently received the first three of 26 new medium-duty, Type 9 ambulances that are built on a Freightliner M2 chassis. The vehicles include a CoolBar HVAC system; liquid spring suspension; 76 inches of headroom; custom exterior compartment and interior cabinetry; solid surface counters; Per4Max seat belts; Whelen M-Series lights and HiViz LED ground lights; and a MedVault.
