Four Seriously Injured in Chicago Fire Truck Crash

Four people were seriously injured in crash in the Austin neighborhood involving a fire truck and at least one car, a department spokesman said.
The crash happened just before noon near Cicero and North avenues on the West Side, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado.
Four people were taken to Stroger Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, Rosado said. No ages or sexes of the victims were immediately available.

None of those injured were Fire Department personnel, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.
An Emergency Medical Services Plan 1 sent six ambulances to the scene.
Photos from the scene showed a red Ford Focus with its rear heavily damaged.
