Gear Stolen from Milwaukee Apparatus while Crews Fight Fire

Equipment aboard a Milwaukee apparatus was stolen while firefighters battled a fire Tuesday.

Crews were responded to a call on the city's south side at the time of the theft, WTMJ-TV reports. Firefighters were doing a search of the burning house for anyone trapped inside when they saw someone taking off with gear that had been on an apparatus.

The department is still trying to determine all the items stolen from the rig. Police are investigating and looking for suspects.

The south side fire was put out without injury, and no one was found inside the burning house.
