A North Carolina firefighter was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday.
The accident happened as Jot-Um-Down Volunteer Fire Department crews were responding to a traffic incident in Surry County, the department stated in a news release. After the call was downgraded, Engine 661, which was traveling around 45 mph, went off the road before hitting a cement culver rolling over three times.
The apparatus driver was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in stable condition. The department said that the firefighter was in good spirits.
The accident is under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
