A Sunset Fire Department pumper sustained heavy damage after a tractor-trailer slammed into it while blocking at an accident scene.
Sunset Engine 212 was blocking at an accident scene on the shoulder when a tractor-trailer veered off the road rear-ending the apparatus.
The pumper was launched about 60 feet before coming to a rest, the department said in a Facebook post.
No one was injured, though the department said on Facebook that losing the pumper was a “devastating blow to our small volunteer department, but the truck did its job!”
