The Park Hills Fire Department is seeking the public's help after a fire truck was allegedly stolen from their fire station.

Local authorities are seeking help from the public after a fire truck was allegedly stolen from the Park Hills fire station early Monday morning.

The 1986 Chevrolet two-door brush truck was allegedly taken from the fire station at 7 Municipal Drive in Park Hills.

Fire officials stated the just acquired the truck and planned on using it as a brush truck, according to a report by The Daily Journal Online.

Around 5:00 a.m., Park Hills Fire Chief Brad Weiss received a report of a department vehicle seen driving with no lights. Weiss told dispatchers that no department personnel should be in the truck and that it should be locked outside the fire station.

The department had just put “Park Hills Fire and Rescue” decals on the doors and the vehicle had a light bar and siren mounted but not operational at the time of the theft.

Chief Weiss told The Daily Journal Online, he had low expectations of finding the truck, theorizing that the vehicle may already be in a scrapyard somewhere.
