SC Fire Truck Crash Leaves One Dead, FF Injured

A civilian was killed, and a firefighter hospitalized in a crash involving an SUV and fire truck north of Hartsville.

A crash involving an SUV and firetruck north of the City of Hartsville killed the SUV driver and sent a firefighter to the hospital.

The accident occurred Monday morning near the intersection of Old Camden Road and Ruby Road.

Investigators said a fire truck was heading south on Ruby Road while an SUV was going in the opposite direction. Trooper Nick Pye told WMBF News, the SUV traveled left of center and hit the fire truck.

The names of the individuals have not been released.

The fire department involved in the crash is not known at this time.
