Greenville County, SC, Rescue Truck Hit by Train

One Parker District firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries while two others in the rig are OK.

One firefighter was injured Sunday evening when a Parker District Fire Department rescue vehicle was hit by a train.

The rig was responding to a car fire with three firefighters aboard when it was struck, WSPA reported.

One firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries while the others are OK, Fire Chief Greg Farley told WYFF. 

The train had just left the yard before the crash occurred. South Carolina Highway Patrol and CSX are  investigating. 

No other information was available Sunday night.
