Ten Hurt when Kingsville, MD, Engine and Squad Struck on I-95

The eight firefighters have been released from the hospital after the crash that also left two civilians hurt.

Eight members of Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company were injured Friday night when two rigs were hit an  incident scene on I-95.

Shortly after arriving on scene, the engine and squad were both struck by a vehicle causing significant damage to both pieces, according to a release on the fire department's Facebook page. 

Two civilians were trapped after the crash.

"Members, without hesitation, began extrication efforts and removed the two patients with the assistance of surrounding companies," officials wrote.

"Eight members of Kingsville were transported to R Adams Shock Trauma Center with minor injuries. All have since been released and are doing well!"

"We as members of Kingsville, while disappointed with the damage that has occurred to our equipment, are extremely grateful that no lives were lost and everyone is home safe. This could’ve very easily ended so much worse. We are grateful that our apparatus did its 'job' and protected our members from further injuries."
