The Fort Worth apparatus was returning from the station after its air horn received minor repairs when the driver noticed smoke and flames coming from under the vehicle, the fire department stated in an online post. As the cab filled with smoke, the firefighter was able to steer the aerial off State Highway 360 in Grand Prairie.
No one was injured in the incident, and the cause of the apparatus fire is under investigation.
