NY Ambulance with Patient, Car in Crash on Exit Ramp

A Hunter EMS ambulance taking a patient to the hospital was involved in an accident Monday with another vehicle on an expressway exit ramp in Plainview on Long Island.

An ambulance transporting a patient to a New York hospital was in a crash with another vehicle on an expressway exit ramp Monday.

The accident involving a Hunter EMS ambulance happened at about 6:45 p.m. at the intersection at the Old County Road exit ramp of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway in Plainview on Long Island, Garden City Patch reports. Wood cribbing was used by Plainview firefighters to stabilize the ambulance so that the patient and EMS workers could be pulled from the vehiicle.

Once out of the ambulance, firefighters transported the patient to the hospital. The EMS crew in the ambulance, as well as the driver of the other vehicle, declined medical attention at the scene, according to Patch.
