Four Injured When SUV Collides with MI Ambulance

Three people aboard a Montcalm County ambulance—the driver, a medic and a patient being taken to the hospital—suffered minor injuries in the crash in Oakfield Township.

Four people were injured when an SUV collided with a Michigan ambulance carrying a patient to the hospital Monday.

The crash involving a Montcalm County ambulance happened at about 10 p.m. in Oakfield Township, WZZM-TV reports. That's when a 2018 Ford Explorer driven by a 39-year-old Greenville woman struck the ambulance and overturned the emergency vehicle.

The three people aboard the ambulance—a patient, a medic and the ambulance driver—were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Responding crews extricated the driver of the Explorer, and she was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police are still investigating the incident but believe speed, drugs and alcohol were factors in the collision, according to WZZM.
