Pleasant View, TN, Firefighter Hurt in Engine Crash

Aug. 1, 2024
The firefighter, who suffered serious injuries, is expected to recover, a Cheatham County official said.

A Plesant View firefighter was injured Wednesday night when his fire truck crashed while he was responding to an incident.

The rig traveled off the roadway, entered a ditch and overturned on its passenger side after attempting to negotiate a curve.

“When we have a storm like we had last night, it makes it even worse because it’s hard to see the road, number one,” Cheatham County Emergency Manager Edwin Hogan told WKRN. “Here, we had about an inch and a half of rain in a short amount of time. I was out in it. You couldn’t see fifteen feet in front of you.”

“You don’t know how bad it is. Of course, that’s on everybody’s mind on top of taking care of the house fire. We were relieved to find out that even though the firefighter had some serious injuries, he was conscious.”
