Feb. 10, 2022
Sanford firefighter Andrew Williams was sentenced after pleading guilty for his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Sanford firefighter Andrew Williams pleaded guilty to one count of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

The judge sentenced Williams to two years’ probation and 60 hours of community service, which must be completed within the 1st year, and $500 restitution to "the architect of the Capitol,” according to Fox 35 Orlando.

The FBI said they obtained two videos and one photo of Williams in the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 riots. One photo appears to be Williams standing at the entrance of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office wearing a Trump cap.

During William’s sentencing hearing he stated that he expressed remorse and regretted his actions.

Williams is still an employee of the department and is on unpaid administrative leave.
