U.S. Forest Service Hangs Out 'Help Wanted' Signs

Jan. 18—The Forest Service is hiring for Wildland Firefighter positions hiring, permanent and seasonal, hand crews, engine crews, hotshot crews position and will host two in-person hiring events next week to interview applicants.

According to the Forest Service, there are about 400 wildland firefighter positions, as permanent, permanent seasonal and temporary positions available.

The Forest Service is holding two in-person hiring events to fill approximately 400 wildland firefighter positions as permanent, permanent seasonal, and temporary.

There will be two interview sessions; one of them will be in Redding, Feb 14-15, at the Red Lion Hotel 9 a.m — 5 p.m. The first one is in Fresno, January 24-25 at the Double Tree Hotel 9 a.m — 5 p.m.

Applicants are invited meet regional fire staff, get application help, learn about the benefits of working for the Forest Service, and may leave with a tentative offer.

Applicants do not need to attend the hiring event to apply. Those attending may pre-register to reserve a spot and skip the lines.

Jobs will be posted on USAJOBS.gov using the direct hire authority. Review the job announcement carefully for deadlines and required information to include in your application. Employment start dates may vary.
