VALPARAISO — A 25-year-old man faces a felony charge after being accused by fellow members at the Burns Harbor Fire Department of unwelcome sexual talk and touches, records show.

The man is charged with felony sexual battery and misdemeanor battery.

Burns Harbor police said the allegations came to their attention in September, and they gathered statements and videos of the alleged abuse from members of the local fire department.

The man is accused of exposing himself to fellow firefighters, groping the others and asking them to shower with him, police said.

The man reportedly admitted to at least some of the allegations but said he stopped when asked. He further admitted to crossing the line and was unsure why he did so, police said.
