FEMA Donates Extinguisher Training System to Conn. Fire Marshals’ Assoc.
The Fire Equipment Manufacturers’ Association has donated a state-of-the-art fire extinguisher training system to the Connecticut Fire Marshals’ Association. The BullsEye Laser-Driven Fire Extinguisher Training System allows fire safety educators to provide safe training in any setting.
“The Fire Equipment Manufacturers’ Association gifted the Connecticut Fire Marshalls’ Association with the Bullseye due to its members’ leadership in promoting fire safety throughout their state,” said Bill Vegso, president of the Fire Equipment Manufacturers’ Association. “The proper use of a fire extinguisher can save lives and protect property. With this system, Connecticut fire safety educators will be able to expand the reach of their fire prevention programs by providing fire extinguisher training virtually anywhere, indoors or out.”
Manufactured by Bullex, the BullsEye eliminates the need for a live fire, along with the time-consuming cleanup and expense associated with using an actual extinguisher, allowing more people to be trained in less time. The system utilizes LED-driven digital flames and helps trainees learn how to effectively put out different classes of fires and operate different types of extinguishers.
“We are thankful for the donation of a fire extinguisher training system from the Fire Equipment Manufacturer's Association,” said Keith Flood, president of the Connecticut Fire Marshals’ Association and Fire Marshal for West Haven, Connecticut. “Portable fire extinguishers are a vital tool for extinguishing fires at the incipient stage and protecting life and property. This will help us to expand our extinguisher training program throughout the state.”
Any Connecticut fire departments that are interested in bringing the BullsEye Laser-Driven Fire Extinguisher Training System to their community are asked to contact the Connecticut Fire Marshals’ Association at 860-978-0593.
