Palm Bay Fire Rescue Chief Leslie Hoog has hung up her white helmet.
Hoog said constant interference and micro-managing by the city manager pushed her to leave, WKMG reported.
“I have lost all trust in you. I believe your character and ‘leadership skills’ are grossly lacking, and, if you are left to do your whims, the entire City will suffer. Therefore, I have no other choice but to voluntarily resign,” the chief wrote in her letter of resignation.
She said the obstruction prevented her from leading the department. The chief added that she is concerned for the safety of the public and firefighters.
