FDNY Firefighter Runs 34.3 Mile Race to Honor 9/11 Heroes

Eaton Blatt will run the 34.3 miles in honor of fallen FDNY firefighters with the race passing fire stations before they arrive at the World Trade Center site.

FDNY firefighter Eaton Blatt organized this race to honor the firefighters who were killed on Sept. 11, 2001 in the terror attacks on the World Trade Center.

The race begins in Long Beach, on Long Island, NY, passes through New York City with runners ending at the World Trade Center site in Manhattan.

"Our goal is to keep reminding people what happened that day. The sacrifice, the bravery," Blatt told CBS2.

This is the fourth year of 34.3 Foundation race, which began in 2020.
