The firefighter was part of a crew that responded to a 911 call, but saw no flames and left. Later, the fire flared up and 74-year-old Ann Bartlett died in the January blaze. Sell Caldwell and two other firefighters appealed their firings.
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. --
A third DeKalb County firefighter has won his job back after being fired following a fatal house fire.
The firefighter was part of a crew that responded to a 911 call, but saw no flames and left. Later, the fire flared up and 74-year-old Ann Bartlett died in the January blaze.
Sell Caldwell and two other firefighters appealed their firings.
All three now have been reinstated. Two battalion chiefs fired after the same fire are not eligible to appeal because they were considered management.
