CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.
--
A row of businesses were damaged by an early-morning fire Friday along Fort Campbell Boulevard. The local fire marshal is calling the blaze suspicious but did not say it was caused by arson.
Officials first received a call from someone at The Pink Lady nightclub at about 12:30 a.m., reporting the fire. There were eight people inside the club at the time, but they all made it out of the club safely.
According to authorities, six buildings were affected by the fires, and at least four of those buildings are at a complete loss.
The strip of businesses was scheduled to be demolished within a month.
"The suspicious part is that it was going to be knocked down, and then all of a sudden, this happened," said Assistant Chief and Fire Marshal Ray Williams.
Ronald Parham, the co-owner of Ringgold Barbershop, said he cut hair at his business for 31 years before Friday's fire.
"One of the sad things about it, we had a lot of pictures in here," Parham said. "It's sad, but I believe in the heavenly father, and he does things for a reason."
Officials are investigating to see if the fire was set intentionally. Fire crews were still fighting hot spots at noon.
No one was hurt by the fires.
