Dec. 24--A kitchen fire Saturday afternoon at a Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Lynbrook left one volunteer firefighter injured, police officials said.
The fire, reported at 12:45 p.m. at the Howard-Lathrop Post 2307 on Merrick Road, was extinguished in less than an hour, according to Sgt. Jim Dillon of the Lynbrook Police Department.
An unidentified Lynbrook Volunteer Fire Department member suffered lacerations to his head and was taken to a hospital, Dillon said. His condition was not immediately known.
