Man Sentenced in Blaze that Left Detroit Firefighter Paralyzed

The man who set a fire that left Detroit Firefighter Brendan Milewski paralyzed, was sentenced to seven years in jail.

A man was sentenced for arson in a fire that left a Detroit firefighter paralyzed. 

On Thursday, Calvin Jones received a seven-year sentence, WWJ reported.

Detroit Firefighter Brendan Milewski, whose story was told in the doucumentary BURN, is a T6 Paraplegic.

In testimony, Jones said he filled bottles with gasoline for co-defendant Samson Wright, for an Aug. 13, 2010 fire at a Metro PCS store.

Milewski was one of several firefighters who were caught when a roof collapsed on crews. 

Three other firefighters retired due to injuries they suffered at the fire.
