The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.

"This is extremely difficult. It's an extremely difficult situation. We go in day-to-day in every incident, worried for each other in every incident. You don't know what we will encounter. We never hope for the worst, but when the worst occurs, it's a devastating feeling," Rich Gardiner, with the Harford County Fire and Rescue Association, told a reporter.

Steciak also was a volunteer with West Friendship Vol. Fire Department, where he was a Paramedic Captain.

Weather conditions are being considered as a factor.

More information will be posted when it becomes available.
