Texas Fire Chief Stabbed Searching for Suspicious Man

A Texas fire chief was stabbed Wednesday morning while attempting to locate a suspicious man.
Westbrook Volunteer Fire Chief Brandon Hale, 34, heard that there were no deputies available to respond to a report of a man standing along a road waving a gun. So, he went to the area to check it out, KRBC reported.
Eventually a deputy showed up, and went to check a house nearby. While Hale was talking to a motorist, the suspect ran up and stabbed him numerous times.
The driver honked his horn to get the deputy's attention.
Hale was flown by medevac helicopter to Lubbock for treatment. There was no word on his condition. However, he received a severe injury to his left eye.
Stony Ray Wilson, 49, was apprehended and arrested.
