A Florida man who conspired to have a pressure cooker bomb placed at the Kansas City Stair Climb this weekend is under arrest.
Joshua Ryne Goldberg, 20, of Orange Park, is accused of distributing information relating to explosives, destructive devices and weapons of mass destruction, KMBC reported Thursday night.
An informant said Goldberg sent him information this summer about how to make a bomb with a pressure cooker and poison-dipped pieces of metal, nails, screws, broken glass and other sharp objects, according to the criminal complaint.
The records detail conversations where police said Goldberg told the informant to place the bomb at the Kansas City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Sunday.
The informant was instructed in those conversations to place the device in a backpack near the crowd, but somewhere where it wouldn't get attention, the station reported quoting the document.
The event will go on as planned, officials announced on Facebook.
