Destructive Clayton Fire Not Under Control

As of Thursday afternoon, 268 houses had been destroyed.

The most up-to-date numbers on the arson-caused Clayton Fire as of Thursday morning from California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection:

Containment: 55 percent

Acres burned: 3,929

Total number of structures burned: 268

Homes burned: 268

Commercial structures burned: 8

Sheds and other outbuildings burned: 85

Fire personnel still working Clayton Fire: 2,131

Engines assigned: 201

Helicopters assigned: 12

Air tankers: 0

As fire personnel survey the Lake County burn area, the number of structures damaged or destroyed may increase. Total containment of the Clayton Fire is expected Sunday.
