According to the Orlando Sentinel, a float representing the character Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty” lumbered into Liberty Square in the theme park bobbling its head with flames growing to the terror of park goers.

As one would guess in one of the world’s most popular attractions, guests were taking cell phone videos and posting them all over social media. The videos showed the “steampunk” looking dragon shedding pieced of its head as flames grew to engulf the head and long neck. The theme park music continued merrily play throughout the incident.

Under normal conditions, the dragon rolls through the streets of the  theme park, rearing its head and blowing smoke and fire in the air as a costumed associated, portraying Prince Phillip battles the beast traveling by foot in front of it, according to the newspaper.

Workers with extinguishers put the fire out while characters for other floats in the parade danced a detour to backstage, the paper reported.

The Reedy Creek Fire Department, assigned to cover the theme park, responded, but the fire was out by the time they arrived, the paper reported.

The cause of why the fire-breathing dragon caught fire is under investigation, the paper reported.
