Two Rescued from MI Apartment Complex Fire

Fire broke out early Sunday morning at the One Dream Apartment complex in Kentwood. The two victims were listed in critical condition at local hospitals.

KENTWOOD, MI – Two people were rescued Sunday morning from an apartment complex fire in Kentwood, near Grand Rapids, according to the fire department.

The fire happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the One Dream Apartment complex in the 600 block of 44th Street. Both individuals were taken to local hospitals where they were last listed in critical condition, according to a news release posted to the Kentwood Professional Firefighter’s Union Facebook page.

Firefighters responded to the incident on a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters and emergency personnel saw smoke showing from the building.

First responders entered the building, rescued two people and began providing medical care to both individuals.

The blaze was swiftly extinguished soon thereafter, the release reads.

Five units from the department including three engines responded to the incident. Cutlerville fire and Wyoming fire assisted Kentwood firefighters at the scene.
