An attempt to thaw pipes in a mobile home left a man hospitalized and the structure with extensive damage.
Holly police officers started administering CPR to the homeowner, who was stricken during his effort to thaw the pipes, The Detroit News reported adding that the man was in stable condition.
Other officers also rescued the man's dog.
"This incident serves as a reminder to always prioritize fire safety when thawing water pipes - never use a torch or open flame for this purpose!" the Village of Holly Fire Department officials wrote in a Facebook post.
