St. Louis FFs' Vehicles Broken into at Stations

Dec. 21, 2023
Thieves made off with sunglasses and coins but nothing major this time.

St. Louis firefighters leaving two fire stations discovered their vehicles had been broken into.

St. Louis Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson said four vehicles  were entered at stations on Arsenal and Donovan, Fox2 reported.

It's not the first time either. On Dec. 2, the windows of multiple vehicles were shattered.

During the most recent incident, thieves stole sunglasses and coins.

“The guys bring their belongings into the firehouse and put them in lockers. It’s a crime of opportunity, but unfortunately, it cost the members of the fire department a thousand bucks a piece to get these windows replaced,” Jenkerson said.

The fire chief said it’s disheartening to know that someone would target a fire house, especially around the holidays, and he hopes the police find the people responsible.
