Off-Duty EMT Hit, Killed on I-95 in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Yanasa Pulido, an EMT with Miami Dade Ambulance, was assisting a crash victim when she was struck.

An off-duty Florida EMT was hit and killed on I-95 Sunday while assisting a traffic crash victim.

Yanasa Pulido, 23, was headed home after her shift at Miami Dade Ambulance when she came up on the wreck in Fort Lauderdale, WPLG reported.

She completed the Hialeah Fire Cadet program in 2019, finished EMT training and fire academy training.

"Everyone who met her was a better person for it," Dayami Apaulaza told reporters. 

She was pronounced dead at the scene by Fort Lauderdale firefighters.
