Dates set for 2022 NFFF Memorial Weekend
Emmitsburg, MD – The 41st Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend will be held on October 8-9, 2022. Due to factors beyond our control, we decided not to change the date of the National Memorial as it had been previously announced. The Memorial Weekend will be held in-person on the grounds of the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
“Each year, we gather in Emmitsburg to remember the sacrifices of those who died in the line of duty and to let their families, friends, and co-workers know they will never be forgotten,” said Troy Markel, Chairman of the Board of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF).
The NFFF will continue to work with the United States Fire Administration (USFA) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regarding any updates and possible impacts from the pandemic. The Foundation continues to ensure the families of the fallen and the departments who have lost a firefighter that they are our top priority.
About the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to honor America’s fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the non-profit Foundation has developed and expanded programs that fulfill that mandate. Our mission is to honor and remember America’s fallen fire heroes, provide resources to assist their families in rebuilding their lives, and work within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries. https://www.firehero.org.
