Three agencies were needed to contain a large brush fire in Blue Eye, Mo., on Nov. 28.
Southern Stone County firefighter were dispatched just before 1 p.m. and Commanding Officer Pollard struck a second alarm while enroute due to the amount of smoke visible from miles away.
The winds gusted around 30 mph, fueling the fire. It took crews over two hours to contain 50% of the fire.
Mutual aid from the Oak Grove and Green Forrest fire departments in Arkansas assisted.
The fire, which burned over 300 acres, was 100% contained just after 6:00 p.m.
The Southern Stone auxiliary provided refreshments.
