In addition to lengthening the warranty on these products, Gore is also extending the warranties retroactively for all of its moisture barriers currently in the market.
Using Motorola Solutions ASTRO 25 network, Fulton County, GA, has launched a new Public Safety Radio system that provides state-of-the-art communications for public safety personnel. The new system represents an investment of approximately $20 million in public safety telecommunications.

Texas-based EMS software company MedaPoint, Inc. has achieved National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS) version 3 compliance for the company’s newly released AdvanceCare ePCR (electronic patient care report) solution. The NEMSIS project was developed in a national effort to standardize the data collected by EMS agencies for improved reporting, enhanced data exchange between EMS providers and hospitals, and better patient outcomes.
MedaPoint’s AdvanceCare ePCR is among the few that has successfully completed the rigorous challenge of obtaining NEMSIS 3 certification, meaning that it is among ePCR solutions that may be purchased by EMS agencies to document patient care encounters, and to automatically export compliant ePCR forms for claims processing and state data reporting, as well as interface with other health-data systems.
The new cloud-based, mobile ePCR works either as a standalone solution, or integrates with MedaPoint’s AdvanceDispatch and AdvanceClaim applications, as well as with third-party dispatch and billing systems, to facilitate the management of the complete patient-care cycle.
Cummins Inc. has received certification for its complete lineup of on-highway diesel and natural gas engines from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), meeting both the current EPA regulations and the second step in greenhouse gas (GHG) and fuel-efficiency standards, which take effect in January 2017. Fuel efficiency is improved across the commercial vehicle engine lineup from 5.0 liters to 15 liters.
"Cummins is committed to providing customer-focused innovation as soon as it is ready," said Amy Boerger, vice president, sales and support. "For example, efficiency improvements implemented in the 2016 ISX15 400-hp to 475-hp ratings will provide customers with fuel economy gains over the 2013 ISX15, ranging from 2.5 percent on the base engine up to 7.5 percent with a SmartAdvantage Powertrain with ADEPT (SmartCoast) features."
Throughout 2014 and 2015, Cummins implemented efficiency enhancements that enable its engines to meet EPA 2016 and GHG 2017 requirements. On-Board Diagnostics requirements are met with enhanced monitors, ensuring that exhaust tailpipe emissions stay within the EPA limits. A Particulate Matter sensor has been implemented, and electronic controls have been enhanced to interact with the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) quality sensor implemented by OEMs on DEF tanks. With a focus on continuous improvement, Cummins plans to incorporate further product enhancements to improve performance, reliability and efficiency throughout 2016.
HME, Inc., has been certified by the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Cooperative Purchasing Program, nationally recognized as HGACBuy. HGCABuy provides municipalities, cities and government agencies, throughout the United States, a more efficient and cost-effective method of satisfying bid process requirements. “The program provides categories for all types of fire apparatus,” said HME Vice President of Sales, Bill Doebler. “We now have HME apparatus listed covering a wide range of fire apparatus categories in the HGACBuy system. It offers our customers pricing they can use to confidently move their bid process forward more efficiently and with less burden on their resources.”
The HGACBuy program is available for organizations that are applying for a new grant, or spending money on a grant they have previously received.
