Leicester, MA, April 13, 2016—Leicester firefighters arrived on the scene of a two-story frame home engulfed in fire. The house was in a rural part of town with no hydrants, so crews set up a tanker shuttle and drafted water from the owner’s swimming pool to help control the flames.

Garfield, NJ, May 31, 2016—The Garfield Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire that heavily damaged a 1½-story frame dwelling. No injuries were reported during the fire, which took just under two hours to control. The fire was believed to have originated in the first-floor kitchen and was originally reported by a passing fire inspector.

Philadelphia, June 9, 2016—Companies responded to a reported dwelling fire with possible subject still inside. Upon arrival, E-60 found a two-story multiple-occupancy residence with smoke showing. Battalion 1 arrived and put 2&2 in service. Crews had fire on the first floor with some extension. An adult male perished in the fire. Two firefighters were injured in this fire, one went in to conduct a search ahead of a hoseline and lost his helmet as the fire rolled over. He exited the door with fire rolling over his head and received burns to his head.

Throwback Hot Shot
St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada, September 1992—A general alarm fire ripped through a vacant four-story industrial building. The building collapsed within one hour despite the use of numerous master streams from six fire departments.
