Eugene Stolowski
EUGENE STOLOWSKI is a 12-year veteran of the FDNY assigned to Ladder 27. He has worked in Engine 21 and Engine 89 on the rotation program. On January 23, 2005, Stolowski was one of six members forced to jump from the 4th floor of a Bronx tenement. Two members were killed that day and the four others seriously injured. Another firefighter was killed in Brooklyn that same afternoon and the day became known as “Black Sunday.” Following three years of rehab, Stolowski returned to the FDNY in 2008 to work with the Family Assistance Unit and the Fire Family Transport Foundation. He also lectures at the Training Academy and to all newly promoted officers.
