Mike Munoz
Battalion Chief Mike Munoz began his career as a firefighter with the Peoria, Ariz. Fire Department in 1986. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1996 and to Battalion Chief in 2006. Chief Munoz currently serves as the Northern Shift Commander on A-Shift.
Mike received his Bachelors Degree in Public Safety Administration from Grand Canyon University, a Masters Degree in Education (Counseling) from Northern Arizona University, a Masters Degree in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Masters Degree in Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago. He is currently working on a Doctorate in Bioethics from Loyola.
For over twelve years, he has taught ethics for the Peoria Fire Department. He has also taught ethics at Glendale Community College and Fayetteville State University. He currently serves on the Ethics Committee at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Chief Munoz has been married to his wife, Stacey, for 30 years and has two children - daughter Jessica, age 22, and son Joshua, age 21.
