Ben Westcott
Ben Westcott started as a volunteer firefighter in 2002. He became a career firefighter in 2004. Westcott works for the Hurst, TX, Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic. He has helped to develop peer support programs for his department and many departments across North Texas and is an independent peer counselor. Westcott is a member of Team Fenix, which trains, including in regard to mental preparedness and resilience, and equips firefighters in rural areas of Mexico. He currently is studying trauma psychology and crisis intervention, working toward becoming a licensed professional counselor. Westcott serves as the vice commander of the Northeast Fire Department Association Honor Guard.
