SPARTANBURG, S.C. --

Three people, including two Cowpens Fire Department volunteers, were arrested and charged in connection to an arson investigation.

CFD responded to a mobile home fire on March 14 at about 5:30 a.m. to 179 S. Linda St. in the Town of Cowpens, S.C.

Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Tony Ivey said after the fire was extinguished, Chief Jamie Caggiano suspected arson and requested assistance from the Cowpens Police Department and the Arson Investigation Unit of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

After the investigation, three people were charged with one count each of second-degree arson. William Dustin Crisp, 21 , and 16-year-olds Michael Harold Chadwick and Trevor W. Sherbert, who are volunteers with the CFD, were arrested.

Crisp was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on Monday and released Tuesday after posting a $5,000 bond. Chadwick and Sherbert were expected to turn themselves in to authorities later Tuesday.
