Two Rescued From Ohio House Fire

CLIFTON -- Two people were trapped in a fire early Wednesday in Clifton. The fire started on the 300 block of Clifton Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Firefighters said they arrived at the home to find a working fire on the second floor of the three-story house. A 35-foot ladder was brought in to rescue two people from the third floor. Everyone inside the home made it out unharmed. One firefighter did suffer a minor injury when he stepped through a hole that was covered by snow.

The fire started on the 300 block of Clifton Avenue shortly after 1 a.m.

Firefighters said they arrived at the home to find a working fire on the second floor of the three-story house.

A 35-foot ladder was brought in to rescue two people from the third floor. Everyone inside the home made it out unharmed.

One firefighter did suffer a minor injury when he stepped through a hole that was covered by snow.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an unattended candle on a book shelf. Firefighters said the home did not have smoke detectors.
