Flames Destroy New Hampshire Firefighter's Home

The fire may have been started by a boy playing with a lighter.

WAKEFIELD, N.H. --

Flames ripped through a home on Saturday which belonged to a firefighter in Wakefield.

Captain Dean Nason's mother-in-law and two children got out safely but their home of 15-years was destroyed.

The cause is under investigation but both Nason and his brother, who happens to be Wakefield's fire chief, said it looks like the youngest son may have accidentally started the blaze with a lighter.

To make matters worse, Nason cancelled his homeowners insurance last winter after his hours were cut at his other job.

Now the family has lost everything.

Nason's family is working on setting up a fund to help him replace some of his belongings and in the meantime the family is living with friends.
