Explosion, Fire Destroys Four Colorado Mobile Homes

Authorities do not know if any homes were occupied at the time of the explosion and fire.

GRAND COUNTY --

Firefighters from three departments responded to an explosion at a mobile home north of Granby on Highway 34 Wednesday night.

The fire quickly spread to three nearby mobile homes causing a total of four mobile homes to be completely destroyed, said Walt Eldridge, Grand County Undersheriff.

Authorities do not know if any homes were occupied at the time of the explosion and fire.

The Grand County Dispatch center was first notified of the fire at 8:03 p.m.

U.S. Highway 34 was shut down from Granby north to mile marker 9 for over an hour, because of the fires.
