ABINGTON, Pa. --
A house fire killed a woman Tuesday in Montgomery County.
Heavy fire was reported on the second floor of the North Hills Avenue home, and Chopper 10 captured significant damage on the home's exterior.
Responding police officers tried to save 87-year-old Eris Connor, who was bedridden on the second floor, but they were driven back by flames.
Her 59-year-old son-in-law was pulled out of the house and treated for injuries.
Officials said the fire appeared to have started in the second-floor bedroom where the woman was trapped, but they did not say what caused it.
