BRENTWOOD, Pa. --

A Brentwood man wound up in the hospital with burns after his house exploded Tuesday night, WTAE Channel 4's Marcie Cipriani reported.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's office said it is investigating what caused the explosion on Tuxey Avenue.

A natural gas leak is suspected, according to the fire marshal.

The man who lived in the house, identified as 39-year-old Tim Welsh, survived the explosion and fire but was burned in several places, said police.

Welsh was last listed in critical condition at Mercy Hospital.
