A massive fire lit up the skies over Detroit's West Side early Thursday morning from a stubborn blaze that destroyed a four-story apartment building.
Dozens of firefighters worked to put out the fire at the Parkside Manor Apartments on Pierson Street in Detroit.
At least one resident of the apartment complex had to be taken to Sinai Grace Hospital for treatment after suffering from smoke inhalation.
Witnesses tell Local 4, residents awoke to the smell of smoke and alerted others to evacuate the building.
Warming buses arrived to help those residents forced outside, where temperatures were in the 20s.
The American Red Cross was also at the scene to help find new homes for those displaced by the fire.
